ok ok ok,
i know i have not been blogging for quite sometime now
sorry
anyway my current situation is really bad
I'm currently aching all over
having fever
and stomachache
it all happened yesterday
i have a gut feeling that it could be because of Chen Chen
on Monday we were supposed to to to SPH for a talk
only Ming teck, Joleen, Chen Chen and Yu han went for the talk
Chen Chen was already running a fever that day
and by the end of the day we took Chen Chen back to school
although we told her to get some rest back home,
but she insisted on going back to school for the st john's camp fire
anyway the very next day after lunch my stomach started to churn and it felt really weird
i started to feel really unwell and when i came back home i took my temperature
guess what 38 DEGREES
i'm actually quite worried that i might have gotten Dangue or SARS
becasue i'm having some of the symptoms as descibed
SARS
Initial symptoms are flu-like and may include: fever, myalgia, lethargy, gastrointestinal symptoms, cough, sore throat and other non-specific symptoms. The only symptom that is common to all patients appears to be a fever above 38 °C (100.4 °F). Shortness of breath may occur later. Symptoms usually appear 2–10 days following exposure, but up to 13 days has been reported. In most cases symptoms appear within 2–3 days. About 10–20% of cases require mechanical ventilation.this is rather unlikely as i started with a stomach ache
it looks like this though
DENGUE
This
infectious disease is manifested by a sudden onset of
fever, with severe headache, muscle and joint pains (
myalgias and
arthralgias — severe pain gives it the name break-bone fever or bonecrusher disease) and
rashes; the dengue rash is characteristically bright red
petechia and usually appears first on the lower limbs and the chest - in some patients, it spreads to cover most of the body. There may also be
gastritis with some combination of associated abdominal pain,
nausea,
vomiting or
diarrhea.
Some cases develop much milder symptoms, which can, when no rash is present, be misdiagnosed as a
flu or other viral infection. Thus, travelers from tropical areas may inadvertently pass on dengue in their home countries, having not been properly diagnosed at the height of their illness. Patients with dengue can only pass on the infection through mosquitoes or blood products while they are still
febrile.
The classic dengue fever lasts about six to seven days, with a smaller peak of fever at the trailing end of the fever (the so-called "biphasic pattern"). Clinically, the
platelet count will drop until the patient's temperature is normal.
anyway whatever it is if this persist i'll be going to Mount Alvernia Hospital for a blood test
to check if i have dengue or not
anyway i'll end my post here
psst:
i just took my tempetrature and it shows 37.59 degress
that means that i don't have fever!
hmm, but what could be the cause?
